Peter Ingle

Founding Director

MY EXPERTISE is analyzing, designing, and writing print and online content for business, government, and technology projects. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I worked as a writer with Mellon Bank and later the Student Loan Marketing Association (SallieMae). That was followed by a move to northern CA where Strategic Business Writers (originally Writedesign) was founded as a contract consultancy. 

I spent 8 years helping CA agencies in Sacramento develop large RFPs for hardware and software bids. In 2008 my family moved to Charleston SC where I helped military defense contractors write responses to federal RFPs (primarily for DoD and DoS contracts) and where I started writing grants, developing web sites, creating marketing collateral, and doing forms design. 2018 found us back in California, this time in Monterey.

DURING MY CAREER I have been an avid student of graphic design, branding strategies, and quality management methodologies. This combination led me to develop “strategic content development”—the approach I use for all my projects. My workshops about this strategic method now form the basis of the book, Think Before You Write.
